History & Impact of INCOFIMS (1st–7th Edition)
About the INCOFIMS Series
INCOFIMS continues to evolve in both academic scope and publication ambitions. After consistently publishing with Scopus-indexed IOP Conference Series for over six years, INCOFIMS is progressively expanding toward collaboration with high-quality scientific journals indexed in Scopus, Web of Science (WoS), and SINTA.
This strategic expansion does not replace the proceedings partnership with IOP; rather, it complements and strengthens it. Selected papers may be offered the opportunity to undergo a second layer of peer review for submission to indexed journals (Scopus, WoS, or SINTA). Meanwhile, proceedings publication remains a core path, and INCOFIMS maintains its collaboration with multiple reputable Scopus-indexed proceedings publishers including:
- IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science (IOP Publishing)
- AIP Conference Proceedings (AIP Publishing)
- Web of Conferences (EDP Sciences)
- E3S Web of Conferences
- Scientific.Net / Trans Tech Publications
These proceedings platforms—recognized by Scopus and often cited in global academic databases—will continue to serve as a robust vehicle for disseminating registered papers. INCOFIMS is committed to sustaining both journal and proceedings tracks in parallel to broaden scholarly reach and increase author visibility. Since its inception in 2018, the International Conference on Fisheries and Marine Sciences (INCOFIMS) has grown into a flagship scientific platform in Southeast Asia. Organized annually by the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), the conference is committed to addressing global aquatic challenges while advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
INCOFIMS has become a trusted venue for the academic dissemination of peer-reviewed research, strengthening cooperation between scientists, professionals, and policy stakeholders. Each edition brings together leading scholars, industry experts, and government officials to tackle emerging themes in aquaculture, marine biodiversity, blue economy, and fisheries sustainability.
Over seven editions, INCOFIMS has:
- Attracted over 1,050 participants from 15+ countries
- Published 640+ peer-reviewed articles in Scopus-indexed IOP-EES proceedings
- Signed 9+ MoUs and collaborations with global institutions (e.g., BRIN, UMT, KU Japan)
- Awarded 120+ travel and registration grants for student researchers
By presenting transparent track records, consistent editorial standards, and reputable keynote speakers from international institutions, INCOFIMS ensures strong credibility and scientific integrity—making it a reliable partner for journal publishers.
