PUBLICATION ETHICS
The proceedings “Opportunities and Challenges in the Development of AI-Based Public Health” are scientific proceedings that publish research findings, conceptual studies, and scientific developments in the field of Public Health, particularly those related to the application and challenges of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in public health. These proceedings implement a manuscript selection and review process (peer review) to ensure scientific quality and academic integrity.
This publication ethics statement aims to explain the ethical standards for all parties involved in the proceedings publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, the scientific committee, and the proceedings publisher.
Publication Ethics Guidelines
The proceedings publisher bears full responsibility for all stages of the publication process and is committed to maintaining editorial independence. Decisions regarding the acceptance or rejection of manuscripts are not influenced by commercial interests, sponsors, or any other external parties.
Responsibilities of the Editor
The proceedings editor is responsible for:
• Ensuring the scientific quality of manuscripts and their relevance to the theme of AI-Based Public Health proceedings.
• Evaluating manuscripts objectively based on their scientific contribution, without discrimination on the basis of race, gender, institutional affiliation, or the authors’ viewpoints.
• Maintaining the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
• Avoiding conflicts of interest and delegating the handling of manuscripts when a conflict of interest arises.
• Making the final decision on the acceptance or rejection of manuscripts based on the results of the scientific review.
Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers are tasked with improving the quality of manuscripts. Reviewers must:
• Conduct the review process objectively, constructively, and in a timely manner.
• Maintain the confidentiality of the manuscript content.
• Avoid conflicts of interest during the review process.
• Identify potential plagiarism, duplicate publication, or substantial similarity with other works.
• Provide feedback supported by sound scientific arguments.
Responsibilities of Authors
Authors submitting manuscripts to these proceedings must comply with the following requirements:
• The manuscript is an original work, has not been previously published, and is not under consideration for publication in other proceedings or journals.
• Authors are responsible for the accuracy of the data, analyses, and interpretation of research results.
• All individuals listed as authors have made substantial contributions to the research and the preparation of the manuscript.
• Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest and sources of research funding, if applicable.
• The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies in the research process, data analysis, or manuscript preparation must be transparently stated in the methods section or in a specific declaration.
• Authors must adhere to research ethics principles, including obtaining ethical clearance for studies involving human participants or sensitive public health data.
• The confidentiality and anonymity of research subjects must be protected in accordance with public health ethics principles.
Plagiarism and Ethical Misconduct
These proceedings do not tolerate any form of plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or data manipulation. Manuscripts may be screened using plagiarism detection software. Any suspected ethical misconduct will be handled in accordance with established guidelines and may result in the rejection of the manuscript or the retraction of the article from the proceedings.
Corrections and Article Retraction
If substantial errors or ethical violations are identified after publication, authors are required to cooperate with the editors to issue corrections or retract the article. Any correction or retraction will be announced transparently in order to maintain the scientific integrity of the proceedings.
Conflicts of Interest and Funding
Authors must disclose all potential conflicts of interest and sources of funding that may influence the interpretation of the research results.
