Background

Geopolitical risks have become one of the most pressing challenges for nations, particularly for developing countries. Political instability, international conflicts, and trade disputes can disrupt essential services, undermine economic growth, and threaten social stability. These uncertainties highlight the urgency for countries to adopt comprehensive strategies that not only mitigate risks but also strengthen resilience against global tensions.

Resilience is not limited to economic capacity; it also requires strong social cohesion, inclusive education, healthcare improvements, and sustainable community practices. When citizens feel secure and empowered, they are better prepared to withstand external pressures and contribute to sustainable national development.

In this context, the Graduate School of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) recognizes the importance of fostering dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collaborative solutions to address geopolitical risks. Through the International Seminar/Conference themed “Geopolitical Risk and Resilience on Developing for a Better World”, UNAIR provides a platform for scholars, policymakers, and practitioners to discuss strategies, share innovations, and strengthen collective resilience for a more secure and sustainable future.
