Breaking Silos: Integrating Human, Animal, and Environmental Health for Global Pandemic Resilience and Food Security

In an era marked by emerging infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, environmental degradation, climate change, and increasing threats to global food systems, the need for integrated and collaborative approaches to health has never been more urgent. The interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health demands a unified response that transcends disciplinary boundaries and institutional silos. Embracing the One Health approach is essential to building resilient societies capable of addressing complex health challenges in an increasingly uncertain world.

The International Conference on One Health Synergy (ICOHS) 2026 serves as a premier international platform that brings together academics, researchers, practitioners, policymakers, students, and stakeholders from diverse disciplines to exchange knowledge, share scientific innovations, and foster collaborative solutions for global health and food security challenges. Under the theme “Breaking Silos: Integrating Human, Animal, and Environmental Health for Global Pandemic Resilience and Food Security,” ICOHS 2026 seeks to strengthen interdisciplinary partnerships and promote evidence-based strategies that support sustainable development and societal well-being.

The conference will feature distinguished keynote speakers and policy leaders from Indonesia, including representatives from the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, and the Regent of Banyuwangi, reflecting the strong commitment of government institutions to advancing the One Health agenda at national and international levels.

ICOHS 2026 will explore six strategic sub-themes:

· Food Safety and Security

· Aquaculture and Marine Biodiversity

· Antimicrobial Resistance

· Zoonosis and Re-emerging Infectious Diseases

· Ecosystem Sustainability

· Pandemic Preparedness

These themes are designed to facilitate scientific dialogue and innovation across sectors while addressing pressing global concerns related to public health, food systems, environmental sustainability, and disease prevention.
