Required Content Structure

Your proposal must contain the following sections, in order:

A. Title / Cover Page

        Title

        Name of student

        Abstract

B. Main Body

1.       Introduction

        General background

        Problem statement / research gap

        Research objectives

        Research questions

Significance and contribution of the study

2.       Literature Review

        Theoretical and conceptual framework

3.       Research Methodology

        Research design

        Population and sample

        Source of data

        Methods of data analysis

4.       Expected Results / Findings

5.       References

Ensure consistency of reference format (APA 6th Edition)

Formatting Rules (from the Template)

Same base formatting as the Full Paper track (Times New Roman, justified, defined heading styles), with one key difference:

Where the Full Paper template has a "Result and Analysis" section, the PhD Colloquium template replaces it with "Expected Result" — since the research is typically still in progress or at the proposal stage.

Abstract should include Purpose, Methods, and Expected Result (not a completed Results section).

References: minimum 25 recent references (last 10 years), at least 80% from journal articles, APA 6th Edition style. Mendeley users can use the official reference style linked in the template.
